Funeral Mass for Earl Descant, Sr. of Hessmer will take place at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Hessmer on Monday, July 4th, 2022 beginning at 10:30am with Rev. Edwin Rodriguez-Hernandez officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Mausoleum.

Earl Descant, Sr., age 77, passed away at the Valley View Nursing Home of Marksville on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Roberta Descant; children, Shannon Descant Sibley (Mark), Earl “Skip” Descant, Jr., Shane Descant (Christine), Sean Descant (Cassy), Nichole Descant Chigoy (Bryan), and Marcus Descant (Christy); step-children, Kathy Walker Petch (Joey), Curnis Walker (Lynn), and Ted Walker (Linda); brother, Don Descant. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sophie, Samuel, Haylea, Jackson, Justin, Austin, Kylie, Sawyer, Beatrix, and Jonah; step-grandchildren; Amanda, Monica, Tabatha, Tiffany, Jake, Andrea, Megan, and Adam; his great-grandchild, Navy; his step-great-grandchildren, Angel, Harmony, Madilyn, Dylan, Kaydence, Aiden, Emalynn, Bexley, Harley, Kaizlee, P.J., Claire, Jace, Troy, Kennedy, Korbin, Gwendolyn, Jadin, Bentley, Sarina, Autumn, Clayton, Adylan, Hayden, Layton, Kaylee, Derrick, and Brody.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Webster and Gertie Bordelon Descant; and his step-grandchildren, Chesney and Neil.

Visitation will begin at 8:00am on Monday, July 4th, 2022 at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura and last until time of services.
