Abner Travasos

Funeral services for Abner John Travasos of Dupont will take place at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dupont on Monday, January 16, 2012, beginning at 10:00 am with Father Chad Partain officiating.

Visitation will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Hall of Dupont on Sunday, January 15, 2012, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and will resume Monday morning at 8:00am. Burial services will commence at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Mr. Travasos, age 96, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012. He was well known in the Dupont community as a postmaster for over 35 years, and was also a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Iris B. Travasos parents, William and Eva Clark Travasos brothers, Robert Travasos, James ToTo Travasos, and Julius Travasos sister, Gertrude Armand.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Plauche of Zachary, and Deanna Mayeux of Metairie sons, Hillary Travasos of Dupont, and Steven Travasos of Slidell foster child, Dorothy Guillot of Zachary brother, Harold Travasos of Abbeville nine grandchildren seventeen greatgrandchildren.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
