Allen Jeansonne

Funeral services for Allen J. Jeansonne of Big Bend will take place at the St. Michael Catholic Church of Rexmer on Sunday, July 22, 2012, beginning at 2:00pm with Msgr. Steve Testa officiating. Visitations will be held at the St. Peters Catholic Church Hall of Bordelonville on Sunday morning, from 8:00am to 1:30pm. Burial services will be at the St. Michael Cemetery.
Allen Jeansonne, age 81, passed away at his home on Friday, July 20, 2012. Mr. Jeansonne was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion of Bordelonville. He raised cattle for over 50 years and was a member of the Avoyelles Cattlemens Association. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wilson Doris Barbin Jeansonne daughter, Aline Jeansonne. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jerayne Jeansonne of Big Bend daughters, Jacquelyn husband Carl Richard of Lafayette, Janell husband Larry Koenig of Baton Rouge, Jolene Allbright of Baton Rouge brother, I.V. Jeansonne of Baton Rouge sisters, Vergeline Clause of Baton Rouge, Elaine Newton of River Ridge three grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, eleven greatgrandchildren. Pallbearers for the service will include: Carl Richard, Larry Koenig, Kevin Normand, Chris Jouban, Alan Jouban, Taylor Jeansonne.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
