It is with infinite sadness that the family of Alycia McCarson Jeansonne regretfully announce that she passed away at her home in Cottonport, LA, on Monday, September 8, 2014, at the age of 87. She was born in South Carolina on October 16, 1926. She was affectionately known as Alice to her family friends. After WWII, she and Jack came to Cottonport to live and raise their family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herndon Jack Jeansonne parents, Harvey Jessie Mae McCarson sisters, Dorothy McCarson, Helen Ottobre, Bobbie Hammons soninlaw, Phil Grisaffe granddaughter, Gabriel Jeansonne greatgrandson, AJ Zone.

She is survived by her children, Sandy Joffrion Butch, Andy Jeansonne Peggy, Jackie Grisaffe, Herndon Buzz Jeansonne Becka, Rebecca Villemarette grandchildren, Jessica Herrmann, Russ Joffrion , Nick Joffrion, Lainie Jorns, Stacey Ponthier, Kristie Allen, Brady Riche, Alec, Trey, Caimbre, Beckett Jeansonne, Samuel Rachal Joni, Austin Shelby Ducote greatgrandchildren, Ryan Garrett Herrmann Kailey, Allie, Brenner Joffrion Mason John Joffrion Emma Jorns Sara Netterville, Caitlyn Kyle Riche Trey Jeansonne greatgreat grandchild Jayson Ponthier brothers, Jimmy McCarson Pat, Larry McCarson Sandy, sister, Annette Price.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and was very supportive of her family. She was a wonderful cook and many of her recipes have been passed down to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed her afternoons drinking coffee with her friends family. She was a beautician owner of a dress shop in Cottonport for many years. She worked as a saleswoman for Mixon Brothers in Bunkie worked as a dealer for Paragon Casino in Marksville for about 18 years. She also enjoyed attending LSU games watching football on television was an avid LSUSaints fan.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 1:30pm in St. Marys Assumption Catholic Church with a gathering to follow in the church community center CYO.

Arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
