Funeral service for Annette Tassin Gonzales of Marksville will begin at 11:00am on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Little Zion Baptist Church in Long Bridge with Pastor Vernon Simon officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Sister Annette Tassin Gonzales, age 69, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at her home in Marksville. Sister Annette Tassin Gonzales was born on May 29, 1955, to the late Joe Tassin and Elnora Jones Tassin in Marksville, LA. She was raised by her grandmother, the later Roseanna Turner Jones, and aunt, Rose Jones McGlory. Sis Annette accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized by Rev. Blackman at the Little Zion Baptist Church. She later fellowshipped with the Congregational First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. B.T. Hinkston and Rev. Michael Gonzales. At First Baptist, she served as a choir member, usher, and mission department for many years. She then briefly joined St. Mary Baptist Church before returning to her home church, Little Zion Baptist Church, where she remained until her passing. Sister Annette was a gentle soul who was loved by all. She was united in holy matrimony to the late, Albert E. Holmes until his passing in September of 1988. She then united with Ray C. Gonzales on June 18, 1994, until his passing in January 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Tassin & Elnora Jones Tassin; grandmother, Roseanna Turner Jones; aunt, Rose Jone McGlory; two brothers, Wilbert “T-boy” Tassin and Irvin Tassin; spouses, Albert E. Holmes and Ray C. Gonzales; grandson, Skylar O. Jackson and godchild, Melissa Jacob-Baker.
Those left to cherish her memory forever are her children: Quintessia Fields (Tauren), Eleanor Arvie (James), Albert Holmes (Danny), and Shannon Gonzales (Tomeka); 3 sisters, Savannah Jacob, Martha Rice, and Brenda Banks; brother, Percy McGlory, Jr. (Madeline); aunt, Virginia Tassin. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Jasmine Tassin, Brooklynn Tassin, Kentroy Jackson, Aariyanna Smith (Gabe), Lilyann Jackson, Chelsea Green, Kendelynn Jackson, Avery Jackson, Craig Green, Jr., and Omar Gonzales; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9:00am until 11:00am on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Little Zion Baptist Church in Long Bridge.
