Anthony often stated, “I do not now fear God, but I love Him, for love casts fear out of doors.” “There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.” 1 John 4:18 Anthony Ignatius Stone, a beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, departed this life at his residence on Monday, February 17, 2025. He was born in Seattle, Washington, on May 15, 1964, to James Stone, Sr. and Shirley Lombard Stone. Anthony accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. Through faith, he was dedicated to worshipping and serving the Lord. Anthony was a proud graduate of John F. Kennedy Memorial High School (Mascot: Lancer) in Seattle, Washington. He obtained a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from The University of Washington (Seattle) on June 13, 1987. He then went on to Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana graduating on May 12, 1989, with a Master of Science degree. After graduation, he relocated to Baton Rouge, Louisiana to begin his course of work. During this time, he met the love of his life and forever companion, Bridget Augustine Stone. Anthony and Bridget were joined in Holy Matrimony on August 9, 1996. During their marriage, Bridget lovingly and affectionately referred to Anthony as “Stone” and he would often jokingly respond to her with “Yes Dear.” Anthony began his professional career at The Dow Chemical Company in June 1989 as the site maintenance accountant at the Dow U.S. Louisiana Division.

During the 1990’s, he held several cost accountant roles in Louisiana. In 1999, Anthony and Bridget moved to Midland, Michigan joining the Cost Process Technology Center as a Subject Matter Expert. In 2005, Anthony became the Finance Manager for the Unallocated Business in Corporate Controllers. Anthony was then the Michigan and West Virginia Operations Site Cost Leader from 2008-2010 and was responsible for the Cost Accounting Groups located in Midland, Michigan and South Charleston, West Virginia. Anthony moved to the role of Sr. Finance Director for the Finance Global Reporting group in August 2010. In this role, Anthony oversaw a highly skilled team who collectively were responsible for delivering many of the Finance reporting elements for Dow on a global level (which included Dow's income statement, balance sheet, business funds flow, sales analysis, estimate and expense reporting). Anthony assumed his current role as Associate Finance Director, Finance Technology Center in 2012. Anthony was a member of the National Association of Black Accountants “NABA,” and was honored at the 2014 NABA All Star 43rd Annual National Convention, Washington, D.C. He loved watching Saturday College Football Game Day, especially the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He also took pleasure in playing golf, spending time with Family, and the many travel adventures with Bridget.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory, his loving and devoted wife of 28 years, Bridget Augustine Stone of Midland, Michigan; mother, Shirley Lombard Stone of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; four brothers, James Stone, Jr. (Phyllis) of Somerset, New Jersey, Daniel (Nicole) Stone of Seattle, Washington, Christopher (Kimberly) Stone of Canyon Country, California, and the Reverend Darryl (Shamell) Stone of Phoenix, Arizona; one godchild, Charles Tyler Fletcher. He has two aunts, June Lombard-Allen, Seattle, Washington and Theresa Johnson, Mansura, Louisiana; five brothers-in-law; and five sisters-in-law. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Stone, Sr., father-in-law, Raphael Augustine, Sr., and mother-in-law, Mae Rita Augustine.

His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
