Barbara Jean Avery – Beloved Mother, Sister, and Grandmother

Barbara Jean Avery, a devoted mother, cherished sister, and doting grandmother, passed away on September 18, 2023, at Lafayette General Hospital. Born on September 9, 1950, Barbara lived a life filled with love, warmth, and unyielding dedication to her family. She peacefully departed this world, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of 73.

Barbara dedicated her life to being a loving mother and a pillar of support for her family. As a homemaker, she created a nurturing and welcoming environment that will forever be remembered.

Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Hall; husband, Francis Elmer Avery; her parents, Jim, Sr. and Earline Hall; and her brother-in-law, Stanford Ford.

 

Barbara will be deeply missed by her daughter Angela Baker, who will forever hold her mother's love and unwavering support close to her heart. Barbara also leaves behind her adoring sisters, Savanna Ford, Linda Sampson, Debra Hall, and Priscilla Guillory; and her beloved brothers, Jim Hall, Jr., Donnie Hall (Elizabeth), Ronnie Hall, and Tony Hall. In addition, she leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Marquise Campbell, Michaél Rivers, Jamecia Tanner, Amiah Baker, Devon Baker, Deon Baker, and Mazen Chevis; six great-grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In honor of Barbara's remarkable life, a visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 8:00am to 11:00 am. Afterwards, friends and family are invited to gather at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Mansura for funeral services beginning at 11:00am. The ceremony will be filled with both celebration and heartfelt remembrance, as we commemorate the profound impact Barbara had on all our lives.

Following the service, Barbara will be laid to rest in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery of Mansura. This final act of farewell will be an opportunity for all who loved her to find solace and closure as we bid our final goodbyes.

As we mourn the loss of Barbara Jean Avery, let us remember her with joy and gratitude for the countless memories she leaves behind. May her spirit of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family continue to inspire us all. In this time of grief, let us find comfort in the knowledge that Barbara's legacy lives on through her cherished family.

Rest in peace, dear Barbara, knowing that you will forever be in our hearts.
