Belton Deshotel

Funeral services for Belton Peter Deshotel of Mansura will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 beginning at 11am at St. Paul Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2015 beginning at 5pm until 10pm at the Escude Funeral Home in Mansura and will reopen at 8am Friday morning. Entombment will be held at St. Paul Mausoleum in Mansura.
Belton Deshotel, age 76, passed away at his home in Mansura on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon & Nestor Deshotel; daughter, Velvet Moreau; son-in-law, Brian Moreau; grandchildren, Brian Moreau, Jr. & Brandy Ducote.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Leona Deshotel of Mansura; daughters, Victoria Laborde (Mike) of Gonzales, Tammy Ducote of Mansura, & Kelly Ducote (Larry) of Mansura; son, Jody Deshotel (Dawn) of San Antonio; sister, Dolly Self (Ken) of Gonzales; brothers, Conrad Deshotel (Marilyn) of Mansura & Matthew Deshotel (Linda) of Mansura. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren & sixteen great-grandchildren.
Belton, once completing high school, join the U.S. Marine Corps. After proudly serving his country, he came home to take care of his wife and children. He began working with CLECO in 1961 until his retirement in 1998 working for 37 years. He enjoyed hunting, especially ducks & turkeys, and did so until his passing. He will be dearly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
