Services for Bessie Cecile Firmin will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 15, 2008 at Christ the King Catholic Church, Simmesport. Burial will be in Christ The King Cemetery in Simmesport under the direction of Escude Funeral Home, Simmesport. Bessie Cecile Firmin, 81, of Simmesport, died August 12, 2008 at Bayou Chateau Nursing Center. She is preceded in death by her father, Francis Smith and mother, Florence Firmin. Survivors include her husband, Lesester Lee Firmin of Simmesport; two daughters, Delce Smith of Simmesport and Rosalie Louque of St. Amant; three sons, Clifford Firmin, Daniel Firmin, Sr. both of Simmesport, Roland Firmin, Sr. of Bordelonville; two sisters, Doris Voiselle, Mary Voiselle both of Simmesport; two brothers, Huey Smith of Baton Rouge, James Smith of Simmesport; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild. Visitation will be Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Escude Funeral Home, Simmesport from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. and re-open the following day at 9 a.m. A Wake Service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, August 14, 2008.
