Funeral services for Betty Gene Addison Reid of Cottonport will take place at the Escud Funeral Home of Cottonport on Friday, September 16, 2011, beginning at 10:00am. Visitations will also be held at the Escud Funeral Home of Cottonport, beginning on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at 5:00pm to 9:00pm and will resume Friday morning at 8:00am. Burial services will commence at the Bethel Baptist Cemetery of Monticello, MS.
Betty Addison Reid was born on September 19, 1922. She married Robert Wilson Reid in 1941. She attended ULM and received her Bachelors Degree in Education, where after she went on to teach in Ouachita Parish for 22 years. On Tuesday, September 13, 2011, she passed away at the Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Reid parents, George Euna Belle Addison brothers, Harry Addison, Ed Addison. She is survived by her daughters, Carla Banes and husband Bob of Fredericksburg, TX, Robin Smith and husband Carlos of Cottonport, LA brother, Carl Addison of Sterlington, LA and also four grandchildren, eleven greatgrandchildren, six greatgreatgrandchildren.
