Funeral services for Billy Ray Wells of Cottonport will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 beginning at 11am at the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Cemetery in Cottonport with Rev. Chris Augustine officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 beginning at 9am until 11am at the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Cottonport. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
Mr. Billy Ray Wells, age 56, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Bunkie General Hospital.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eugenia Wells of Cottonport his parents, Jimmy Alice Eldridge Wells of Cottonport daughters, Latisha Prater of Arlington, TX, Candice Prater of Cottonport, and Brayla Green of Marksville his son, Corey Prater of Lafayette stepdaughters, Josepha Williams and Brandi Murray of Lafayette his sisters: Betty Prier of Cottonport, Janice Mcgrew of San Antonio, TX, and Debra Wells of Cottonport his brothers: Larry Wells, Leroy Wells, Allen Wells, and Tony Wells all of Cottonport his halfsister Betty Young of Cottonport. His is also survived by five grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
