Brenda Hobbs

Funeral services for Brenda Hobbs will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. Visitation will be held at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura beginning on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5pm until 8pm and will resume at 8am Friday morning. Burial will be held at the Christian Family Worship Cemetery in Mansura.
Brenda Joyce Hobbs of Plaucheville passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the age of 75 years, 9 months, 20 days after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 9, 1940 in Rockport Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents: George Gano Marshall and Virginia Mae Phillips McManus; her daughter, Diana Lynn Schneider; her siblings, Loretta Darlene Callahan, Patsy Slade, and Roy Honea.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Pamela Martin (Michael), Kathleen Nash, James Michael Hobbs (Tess), Tammy Lemoine (Wayne), and Karen Martin (Terry); her grandchildren: Michael Martin, Jr., Shannon Martin and his wife Lisa, and Megan and her husband John Mills, Jesse Nash and his wife Lauren, and Taryn Nash, Matthew Schneider, Joshua, Gabriel and Micah Hobbs, Justin and Cassidy Lemoine, Emily and her husband Matt Davis, Samantha and Hannah Martin; her great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Alyssa, John, Alyson, and Layla; her siblings: Ellen Virginia Honea, William "Bill" Turner Honea, Jr. (Roxanne), Donna Louise Mayeaux (Russell), and Dorothy Kelly; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
A resident of Louisiana since 1978, Brenda shared her nursing talents in several nursing homes throughout the Avoyelles Parish community. She was a member of Christian Family Worship Center for many years where she enjoined many hours of fun and laughter with her friends as a part of the Silver Saints. In her quiet times at home she enjoyed her times of Bible study, writing, crocheting and needlepoint. Her children and grandchildren were what she lived for and she considered them her greatest accomplishments.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be: Michael Martin, Jr., Shannon Martin, Jesse Nash, Matthew Schneider, Justin Lemoine, & Joshua Hobbs and honorary pallbearers are: John Mills, Matt Davis, Gabriel Hobbs, & Micah Hobbs.
