Carolyn Pitts

Graveside service for Carolyn Pitts will begin at 11:00am on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Christ the King Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00am to 11:00am, on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport. 

Carolyn Pitts, born on April 6, 1937, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025. 

Carolyn was known for her good nature, she never turned a friend away and created a welcoming for all who crossed her path.

Her interests reflected her warm spirit. Carolyn found joy in cooking, often preparing delightful meals for family and friends.  In addition to cooking, she enjoyed sowing, where her creative talents flourished, and shopping, a pastime that brought her much happiness.

Those left to cherish her memory are her partner,  David Lemoine; Children, Lewis Yancey, Walter Yancey, and Diane Pitts; and one grandchild, Olivia Palmer.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ellen Mae Pitts; and her parents, Walter Burk Pitts and Laura McCorkle Pitts. 

Carolyn’s presence will be deeply missed by her loved ones and the community she cherished. Her legacy of goodwill and warmth will forever remain in the hearts of those she encountered.
