Catherine Margaret Woods

Funeral Mass for Catherine Margaret Woods will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, September 21, 2024, beginning at 11:00am. Burial will take place at St. Anthony Cemetery. 

Catherine Dupas Woods, 86 of Cottonport, LA, went to her heavenly home on Friday, September 13th, 2024, at her residence.  

Catherine Margaret Dupas, was born to the union of, Freeman Dupas and Hester Augustine on, June 22nd, 1938, in Moreauville, LA. 

On May 6, 1956, Catherine married the love of her life, Marvin Woods, Jr. To this union, they were blessed with 8 beautiful children.  

Catherine, also known as, "Tatee or Ms. K", was employed as a long-time Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. She was a devoted member of The Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, serving faithfully until her health prevailed. She was also a dedicated Election Poll Worker. During election time, you could always find Tatee working at the polls and never missing an election. Tatee had a loving passion for working in her garden and beautifying her flower bed. You couldn't tell her that she didn't have the most beautiful yard in the neighborhood.  

Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Marvin Woods, Jr.; parents, Freeman and Hester Augustine Dupas; 3 brothers, Joseph Hill, Paul Dupas, Sr., and Calvin Dupas, and 1 grandson, Julian McKennon Woods. 

Catherine whispered her sweet good-byes to her 8 loving children, Melvin L. Woods (Terrie), of Lafayette, LA, Jessie K. Woods, of Pensacola, FL, Patricia Woods Harris, of Houston, TX, Carolyn Woods Hill (Timothy), of Moreauville, LA, Carol Woods, of Jacksonville, FL, Sandra Woods Jacobs (Martin Jr.), of Cottonport, LA, Freeman J. Woods, Sr., of Cottonport, LA, Donald R. Woods (Tarina), of Jacksonville, FL; 2 brothers, Earl Dupas (Sadie), of Alexandria, LA, and Samuel Dupas (Dorothy), of Moreauville, LA, 1 brother-in-law, Jessie Woods, Sr., of Cottonport, LA, 26 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 2 goddaughters, Dwanda J. Jones, of Cottonport, LA and Sarah T. Fisher, of Beaumont, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, bonus-grandchildren, neighbors, family, and friends who all loved Tatee and will sincerely miss her dearly.

Visitation will begin on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 8:00am - 11:00am, at Escude Funeral Home in Cottonport, LA.
