Funeral services for Chance Ray Smith of Carthage, TX will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura, beginning at 12:00pm. Visitations will also be held at the funeral home, beginning at 12:00pm Tuesday, September 9, 2009, and will last all night. Graveside services will take place at the Cushman Cemetery in Marksville. Chance Smith, age 23, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2009. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, J.C. Lachney. He is survived by his; mother, Cindy Gayle Smith of Carthage; daughter, Kelsey Cardona of Centerpoint; sister, Kimberly Whiteside of Bastrop; brother, Cory Smith of Carthage; half-brother, Glenn Smith of Houston; half-sister, Sherry Smith of Houston; maternal grandparents, Arnold Bernice Dean Franks of Carthage. Services and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
