Charles Mitchell, Jr.

Funeral services for Charles Mitchell, Jr. of Simmesport will take place at the Christ the King Catholic Church of Simmesport on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, beginning at 11:00am. Visitations will be held at the Escud Funeral Home of Simmesport on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, beginning at 5:00pm and will last until the funeral service on Wednesday morning. Burial services will commence at the St. Catherine Cemetery.
Charles Joseph Mitchell, Jr., age 64, passed away at his home on Sunday, April 22, 2012. Mr. Mitchell was a Vietnam War veteran, recipient of many medals including the Purple Heart. He worked for the Department of Transportation Development for 19 years retired as a Port Captain. He also worked for the Department of Corrections at Angola for 17 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Joseph Mitchell, Sr. Alrina Theresa Mitchell sister, Lorraine Martin. He is survived by his wife, Eva Nell Mitchell of Simmesport children, Tommy Mitchell of Simmesport, Sheila Longino of Moreauville, Lori Longino of Moreauville, Wayne Mitchell of Morrow brothers, James Mitchell of Baker, Ted Mitchell of Simmesport sister, Melanie Mitchell of Alexandria. He is also survived by his fifteen grandchildren one greatgrandchild.
