Dale Vead

Funeral services for Dale Lambert Vead, 61, better known as “Jethro” will be held on Friday December 16, 2022, beginning at 12:00 pm in St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer with Fr. Edwin Rodriguez-Hernandez officiating.

Mr. Vead, a resident of Hessmer, passed away at his home on December 14, 2022. He was a very simple man leading a very simple life. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends and just spending time with them. His pleasure was to hunt and be outdoors and he enjoyed working hard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Valley, Sr. and Reva (Lambert) Vead; granddaughter, Maci Vead; brother, Valley Vead, Jr.; mother and father-in-law, Earl and Betty Roy; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Roy Smith and Patricia Vead; brother-in-law, Johnny Roy.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 41 years, Cynthia Roy Vead of Hessmer; daughters, Holly Ash (Joseph) of Hessmer and Nancy Vead of Hessmer; son, Gabe Vead (Courtney) of Hessmer; grandchildren: Zoe Lacombe, Dakota Lacombe, Harlee Ash, Louis Vead, Mason Ash “Cat Daddy”, Wyatt Gardner, and Millie Vead; brother, Gene Ducote of Moreauville; and niece, Kristie Vead. Numerous extended family and friends also survive him.

Visitation will be held at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura on Thursday, December 15, 2022, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm with a rosary recitation at 7:00 pm. Visitation will resume Friday, December 16, 2022 at 9:00am until 11:30am at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are, Gabe Vead, Matt Ash, Brad Juneau, Cory Juneau, Kristie Vead, Sydney Ducote, Ben Ducote, and Fabious Ponthier.
