He passed away in his home on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.

DeLas Franco Huddleston was born November 28, 1973 to the parents of Carrie Huddleston and the late DeLas Davis.

DeLas accepted Christ in his life at an early age at Full Gospel Holy Temple Church in Simmesport, LA. He graduated in 1993 from FGHT Christian Academy and continued his education at Louisiana Technical College at Cottonport, Louisiana.

DeLas loved God and he loved God's people. He loved church and he loved gospel music. As a young adult, DeLas organized a gospel group called Anointed Voices and they traveled near and far blessing community and churches with the joyful sound of praise and worship.

DeLas was very active and well known in the community. He is most notably remembered for his "I Have a Dream" Speech which he recited in nearly every church and community event in and around Avoyelles Parish; and he had done so faithfully for 20 years. DeLas was all about community and bringing people together. He founded a Non-Profit Organization named CLUB VISION. DeLas was a visionary. He utilized his knowledge, time, gifts and talents in efforts to make this world a better place. In 2013, Club Vision sponsored the Town of Mansura's 1st Annual Family and Friends Day, an annual event held Father's Day weekend all in effort to bring the family and friends together in fellowship.

In October 2014, DeLas was elected to Mansura City Council. He was elected to the five member council in the at-large election. He won the final seat by four votes. There he served as City Councilman until his untimely passing.

DeLas lived a FULL LIFE! He was full of drive and ambitious. He was full of vision and purpose. He was full of hard work and determination. He was full of love and compassion. And when God called him home, he died empty....because he gave ALL of himself to serve his purpose driven life. Well Done!

DeLas was preceded in death by his father DeLas Davis and his grandmother Jo Helen "Ms. Peaches" Huddleston. He leaves to cherish his memories: His mother Carrie Huddleston from Mansura, LA; five brothers Richard Huddleston (Eron) from Hutto, TX, Eric (Caroline) from Cottonport, LA; Joey Huddleston from Longview, TX; Shawn Davis from Marksville, LA and Lando Davis from Aurora, Colorado; two sisters Angeleet Huddleston and Joanne Huddleston Miles from Longview TX; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousin, other relatives and friends.
