Delories Elmira Bell Lanehart passed peacefully from this life to her eternal home on the afternoon of Saturday, November 19, 2016 at her home. She was surrounded and supported by her loving husband and family. While we are uncertain of why she departed this life, we are confident that when God says, "Old thy good and faithful servant well done, come now and enter unto they rest, we who believe on Him know we will see her again.

Mrs. Lanehart was a life-long resident of Lettsworth, Louisiana, but periodically lived in New Orleans only to return to her home town. She was baptized at an early age in 1969 by the late Reverend Henry of the Tree of Life Baptist Church. She was honored to serve as the church's secretary and lived a life as a devout Christian. She was a graduate of Pointe Coupee High School where she developed her talents as a Pianist. She attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but soon realized her calling was in nursing. She graduated from Charity School of Nursing in New Orleans, Louisiana, but brought her skills and talents to her home community where she worked as a Registered Nurse in Geriatric Psych, Pediatrics and Long Term Care.

Mrs. Lanehart is survived by her soul mate and love of her life for the last 32 years, her husband, Mr. Samuel Lanehart, Sr.; her step-children: Tongila Lanehart Jones (Calvin), De'Oandra Lanehart (Latisha) and Theron Lanehart (Nichole); her best friend, confidant and sister, Shawna Bell Mitchell; step-brother, Minister Gregory Brooks; step-sister, Kasandra Adams; her beloved God children: Nadia Elizabeth Turner (Niece), Xavier Elijah Mitchell (Nephew), Nytavis Beco (Nephew) and Alaydea Serf (Cousin). She also leaves her great aunt, Judy Mae Rachel and uncles, Joseph Francois and Roosevelt Hatford and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends to celebrate her homegoing. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmira Reynolds Bell, and John Paul Bell.
