Funeral services for Doris M. Bernard of Simmesport will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church of Simmesport on Friday, February 27, 2015 beginning at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2015. Burial services will commence at the Christ the King Cemetery.
Doris Bernard, age 87, passed away at Bayou Chateau Nursing Center of Simmesport on Wednesday, February 25, 2015. She enjoyed being outdoors to tend to her flower beds and loved to be around nature. She was a member at Christ the King Catholic Church for many years. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis & Annette Dauzat Dupuy; husband, Otis Joseph Bernard; son, Troy Paul Bernard; brothers; Tyson, Belton, Louis and Lester; sister, Della. She is survived by her children; Gerald Bernard, Margaret Bernard Mandujano, Douglas Bernard, and Donald Bernard; Sisters, Oline, Bertha, Beraline, and Rita; brothers; Robert and Cylton. She is also survived by six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
