Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Barr of Simmesport will take place at the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church of Simmesport on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, beginning at 2:00pm, with Pastor Gilbert Barr officiating. Visitations will be held at the Escude Funeral Home of Simmesport on Monday, May 3, 2010, from 5:00pm until time of services on Tuesday. Burial services will commence at the Masonic Cemetery.
Dorothy Barr, age 80, passed away at the LaSalle General Hospital on Sunday, May 2, 2010. She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis Riley White Maude Brandenburg White son, Louis Barr grandchildren Christopher Barr Geralyn Desoto. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Byron Barr, Sr. of Simmesport sons, Gilbert Barr of Simmesport Donald Barr of Angola Joseph Barr, Jr. of Simmesport, James Barr of Mandeville John Barr of Simmesport, Allen Barr of Jonesville daughter, Becky White of Jonesville. She is also survived by her twentynine grandchildren thirtyfour greatgrandchildren.
