Dorothy Laborde

Dorothy Laborde, age 79, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

Those left to cherish her memory are her spouse, Lurry Laborde of Hessmer; sons, Vincent (Bonny) Laborde of Mansura and Keith Laborde of Bunkie; daughter, Wanda Laborde of Mansura; and 12 grandchildren. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include: Toby Desselles, Sean Laborde, John Sieveking, Kane Dauzat, Jimmy Juneau, Michael Johnson, Fred Dauzat, Christopher Mingo and Paul Simon.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Laprairie; great-grandchild, Layla Simon; parents, Elie and Elma Bordelon; siblings: Bella Carlino, Maydell Rome, Ruth Moreau, Norris Bordelon, Marie Sellers, Anna Mae Lemoine, and Ned Bordelon.

A visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 10:00pm on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at the Escude Funeral Home in Mansura. A rosary prayer service will begin at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume at 8:00am until time of service on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.

Funeral mass for Dorothy Laborde of Hessmer will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer. Burial will follow at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.
