Funeral services for Edna May Augustine of Centerpoint will take place at St. James Baptist Church of Moreauville on Saturday, July 7, 2012, beginning at 11:00am with Rev. Edward Thornton will be officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012, at St. James Baptist Church beginning at 10:00am until time of service. Burial will commence in the St. James Baptist Church Cemetery.
Edna May Augustine, age 71, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard Thornton, Sr. and Addie Keller Thornton, her five brothers Phillip Thornton, Abraham Thornton, Hosea Thornton, Lionel Thornton and Howard Thornton, and two sisters, Deborah Thornton and Katherine Thornton. She is survived by one son, Daniel Augustine, Jr. of Mansura, two daughters, Gilda Augustine of Houston and Janice Augustine of Baton Rouge, her former husband, Daniel Augustine, Sr., her brother, Rev. Edward Thornton of Houston, and four sisters, Grace Coleman of Marksville, Inell Sanders of Alexandria, Louise Grisby of Baton Rouge and Nancy Thornton of Baton Rouge. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
