Edna Sampson

Funeral services for Edna Murray Sampson of Mansura will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 beginning at 11am at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 beginning at 5pm until 9pm at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura with Rosary at 7pm and will resume Saturday morning at 8am until the time of service. Burial will be held at St. Paul Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.

Edna Murray Sampson, age 100, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at the Riviere de Soleil Community Care Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Modella & Louisa Augustine; her 1st husband, Cilton J. Murray; 2nd husband, Louis Sampson; children, Paul Dalton Murray, Richard Joseph Murray, Rita Mae Jacobs, & Shirley Elizabeth Prier; her brothers & sisters, Lou Anna Benjamin, Claira Sampson, Ruby Francisco, Herman Augustine, Raphael Augustine, Lonis Augustine.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Louise M. Prier of Mansura, and Joseph Patrick Murray of Cottonport; sisters, Eunice Washington of Baltimore, MD and Theresa Johnson of Mansura; thirty-one grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.
