Funeral Mass for Elaine Marie Gauthier "MaPea" of Cottonport will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport with Fr. John Wiltse officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Assumption No. 2 Cemetery.

Elaine Gauthier, age 76, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Lafayette General Hospital.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Sherry Aymond (Jamie) of Marksville and Chad Hukins of Cottonport; and 8 grandchildren: Thaddeus Hukins, Matthew Hukins, Taylor Hukins, Logan Aymond, Sarah Laborde, Breanna Aymond, Bruce Hukins, III, and Mia Hukins. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and 4 siblings.

She preceded in death by her sons, Thaddeus Hukins and Bruce Hukins, Jr.; first husband, Bruce Hukins; second husband, Irvin Gauthier; parents, Alvin & Eldie Ducote; brother, Alvis Ducote.; and grandson, Lance Hukins.

Visitation will begin at 5:00pm until 10:00pm on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Escude Funeral Home in Cottonport. Rosary prayer service will begin at 7:00pm. Visitation will resume at Escude Funeral Home in Cottonport on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, morning at 8:00am until the time of service.
