Funeral services for Elizabeth "Betty" Pierre Johnson of Moreauville will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017 beginning at 11am at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Moreauville. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9am until time of service. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Baptist Cemetery in Moreauville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.

Elizabeth "Betty" Pierre Johnson, age 79, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Valley View Nursing Home in Marksville. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Pierre, Sr. & Octavia Sylvan Pierre; husband, Vincent Vernon Johnson, Sr.; brothers, John (Louise) Pierre, Jr., Murray (Katherine) Pierre, & Richard Pierre; brother-in-laws, Romain (Mary) Johnson, Simon Johnson, Charles Johnson, & Sterling Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Melissa (Reginald) Alexander & Collette (James) Harris both of Moreauville; five step-children, Diane (John) Jones of Marksville, Debra Carmouche of Marksville, Vincent Vernon Johnson, Jr. of Mansura, Robert (Patricia) Johnson of Mansura, & Steve Johnson of Mansura; sister, Ivory (Benjamin) Sampson of Houston, TX; sister-in-laws, Bernice Pierre, Elaine Johnson, & Hattie Blackman all of Moreauville. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve step-grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, & extended family.
