Funeral services for Erma Lee Washington of Cottonport will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 beginning at 11am at Baptist Faith Mission Church Outreach of Marksville. Visitation will take place Saturday, October 1, 2016 beginning at 9am until 10:45am also at the Church. Interment will commence in the church cemetery.
Erma Lee Washington, age 73, departed this life on September 20, 2016 at Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA. Erma graduated from Dunbar High School in Simmesport, LA and God used her in many ways. She was head cook at the Headstart School for so many years. God placed on her heart to do a prayer breakfast which was her ministry. She was united in holy marriage to the late Henry M. Washington for 47 years, to this union six children were born.
She was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and provided everyone with spiritual nourishment, loving care, sound advice, maternal comfort and southern comfort food. She also enjoyed fishing and turtle hunting.
Erma leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted children, Brenda Ware (Glenn) of Shreveport, Barbara Davis of Baton Rouge, Elaine Larcart (Melvin) of Cottonport, Dianna Graham of Kingwood, TX and Joyce Corner (Gerald) of Hessmer, Lloyd Washington (Marilyn) of Pearland TX. one brother, Wilbert James (Trina) of Baytown, TX; one sister, Pearlie James of Mansura; one aunt, Ester Mae Ballard of Oakdale. 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 god-children, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
