Funeral services for Essie Mae Johnson of Cottonport will take place at the Escud Funeral Home of Cottonport on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, beginning at 10:00am. Visitations will also be held at the funeral home, prior to the services, beginning at 8:00am.Burial services will commence at the Jerusalem Baptist Cemetery of Cottonport.
Essie Johnson, age 68, passed away at the Opelousas General Hospital on Friday, February 18, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Hester Larcarte brothers, Hubert Larcarte, Herman Larcarte, Aaron Larcarte, John Larcarte sister, Catherine Thomas. She is survived by her husband, Davis N. Johnson of Cottonport sons, David Johnson of Cottonport, Wayne Lee Johnson of Texas City, Robert Johnson of Hickory Hill daughters, Sherry Simon of Cottonport, Sue Johnson of Cottonport brothers, Larry Larcarte, Bailey Larcarte sisters, Rosa Mary Heggar, Dorothy Heggar, Wilma Hilt. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
Services and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
