Funeral Mass for Felton A. Sampson of Mansura will begin at 11:00am on Friday, July 17, 2020 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Burial will be held at St. Paul Cemetery.
Felton A. Sampson, age 73 on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at approximately 8:40am, was granted eternal rest at Valley View Nursing Home in Marksville. On January 1, 1947, Felton was born to Theresa Francois and Carrison Sampson in Mansura, LA. Felton confessed Christ at his personal savior and was baptized at an early age. He was a member of the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Felton served in the U.S. Army and later served in the National Guard for 24 years. He worked as a security guard at the Cottonport prison and work the Nan in Batchelor, LA. After his retirement, he enjoyed the casino and good home cooked meals.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Gregory P. James and Marlon A. James both of Mansura; friend, Pearly James of Mansura; sisters, Margaret Hall and Dorothy Sampson both of Mansura; brother, Carrison Sampson, Jr. of Hessmer; one brother-in-law, Jim Hall and one godchild, Katina Hall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrison Sampson, Sr. & Theresa Francisco Sampson; two sisters, Ruth and Rebecca; five brothers: Albert, Raymond, Paul, Peter Lester, and Marshall; three sister-in-laws: Bobbie, Celina, and Gloria; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
Visitation will begin at 8:00am until 11:00am on Friday, July 17, 2020 at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Escude Funeral Home.
