Frank Caillouet Gauthier, 76, of Cottonport died at his residence on May 29, 2010, after a lengthy illness. Visitations will take place at the Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport on Sunday, May 30, 2010, from 4:00pm until 9:00pm. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 31, 2010 at St. Marys Assumption Catholic Church, Cottonport with Father Anthony Raj Dhamaraj officiating.
Frank was born on January 21, 1934 to Lester and Addie Caillouet Gauthier. He attended Cottonport High School, graduating in 1952. He went on to the University of Southwestern Louisiana ULL and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Geology. Upon graduating in May of 1957, he was drafted into the United States Army.
He served 6 years. He then ventured into the retail lumber and hardware business.
For 28 years he owned and operated Franks Couvillion Lumber in Cottonport. After retiring he again entered the work force as a crop insurance adjuster for Rain and Hail Crop Insurance. Frank was a faithful Parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church in Cottonport. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 186.
Frank is survived by his wife, Janice Armand Gauthier of Cottonport sons, Shane Anthony and wife Tara Gauthier of Cottonport and Johnathan Jude Gauthier of Austin, Texas grandson, Lucas Shane Gauthier and step grandchildren, Riley, McKenzie and Ainsley brothers Ryan Sonny and wife Kathleen Gauthier of Cottonport and Lester Jr. and wife Barbara Gauthier of Baton Rouge sisters Elaine and husband George Broussard of Baton Rouge, Beverly Bev Gauthier of Cottonport, Florence Sis Decuir of Marksville and Peggy and husband Kenneth Bordelon of Fifth Ward. He is also survived by his twentythree nieces and nephews thirtynine greatnieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, brother in laws Forest Decuir and Leland Gauthier niece, Julie Comeaux and nephew Tim Decuir.
Services and funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
