Frank Purpera, Jr.

Services for Frank Purpera Jr., 83, a resident of Simmesport, will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Simmesport on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 2 p.m., with visitation beginning at noon. Interment in the church cemetery under the direction of Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport. He died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, at Southwest Medical Center in Lafayette. Survived by his wife, Anna Belle Moreau Purpera, of Simmesport; two sons, Frank Craig Purpera, of Angel Fire, N.M., and Dwayne Joseph Purpera, of Denham Springs; a daughter, Nina P. Firmin, of Bordelonville; a sister, Rosina Dupont, of Simmesport; three brothers, John and Joseph Purpera, both of Baton Rouge, and Angelo Purpera, of Simmesport; stepbrother, Charles Mondella, of LaPlace; two stepsisters, Marie Cutrer, of Baker, and Jo Ann Mayeaux, of Marksville; five grandchildren, Frank Craig Purpera Jr., Sarah Lee Ann Purpera, Desire Faith Purpera, Roland Firmin Jr. and Rosalyne Firmin; and a great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr. and Sarah Russo Purpera; and two brothers, Vince and C.D. Purpera.
