Freida Maxine Johnston

Freida Maxine Johnston, age 90, native to Simmesport, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in Walker.

Funeral Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 1:00pm at The United Pentacostal Church in Simmesport on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Funeral service will begin at 1:00pm at The United Pentacostal Church in Simmesport on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

Burial will follow at the United Pentacostal Cemetery in Simmesport.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Hugh Bordelon and Taharka Johnston (Mary); daughters, Maria Deville (Dale) and Joyce Ann Bordelon; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Bertrand.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Blake Bordelon and Lawrence Bonnette; daughter, Jane Sherman; first husband, Edgar Bordelon; husband, Lonnie B. "L.B." Johnston, Jr.; parents, Mack Barr and Onelia Bonnette Barr; brothers, Joe Barr, Carlton Barr, Huey Barr, Johnny Barr, and Creff Barr; sisters, Elodie Whitehead, Estella Louis, and Kate Barr.
