Funeral Mass for Gene Holmes, Sr. of Mansura will take place at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Mansura on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 beginning at 10:30am with Rev. Irion St. Romain officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Cemetery.

Gene Holmes, Sr., age 82, passed away at his home in Mansura on Monday, October 31st, 2022.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Cassandra Lee and her late husband Jeffery, Kenneth Holmes (Kina) of New Orleans, Tyrone James (Ramona) of Houston, TX, Cathy Holmes of New Orleans, Keith Holmes (Lea) of Atlanta, GA, Kendrick Holmes (Rasheeka) of Dallas, TX, and Gene Holmes, Jr. (Judy) of Mansura; sisters, Waver St. Romain and Patricia Holmes Brooks; brother, Rodney Holmes. He is also survived his eighteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecilia “Cecil” Holmes; parents, Cornelius and Eunice Johnson Holmes; and his siblings.

Visitation will begin at 8:00am on Saturday, November 5th, 2022 at the Escude Funeral Home of Mansura until time of services. A rosary will be recited that morning at 9:45pm.
