Funeral services for Genevieve Mary Ducote of Baton Rouge will be held on Monday, November 18, 2013 beginning at 10:30am at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer La. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2013 beginning at 5pm until 10pm at the Escud Funeral Home in Mansura La. and will reopen at 8am on Monday morning. Interment will be held in the St. Alphonsus Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
Mrs. Genevieve Mary Ducote, age 82, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She was a devote catholic who cared deeply for others. Her vivacious personality and warm smile brought happiness to everyone she met. She loved cooking, making crafts and spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and soninlaw Janice and John Parker of Zachary sons and daughterinlaws, David and Simone Ducote of Denham Springs and Wayne and Jonelle Ducote of Baton Rouge and her brother, Havard Rachal. She also leaves behind grandchildren: Amy Moss, Jack Shaffer, Dirk Shaffer, Jace and Kate Ducote, and thirteen greatgrandchildren also, former daughterinlaw and lifelong friend Linda Coston Wahl.
She was preceded in death by her husband Buvens Ducote her parents Widdy Eunice Rachal sisters, Della Gaspard, Hattie Saucier: brother, Herbert Rachal and grandson, Daniel Shaffer.
