Gertrude Thevenot

Funeral services for Gertrude Ruth Rachal Thevenot will be on Monday, January 31, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the St. Mary Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport with the Rev. Blake Deshautelle officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2011.
A Christian Wake Service and Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at Escud Funeral Home, Cottonport. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in the St. Mary Assumption Mausoleum 1, Cottonport under the direction of Escud Funeral Home of Cottonport.
She was preceded in death by her parents Victor and Euna Rachal and sisters, Nora Tarver, Renee Trucker, Anita Gauthier, Mildred Riche, brothers, Bernard and Herman Rachal and one grandchild, Mona Sonnier.
Those left to cherish her memory include children, son, Terrell Thevenot of Cottonport daughter, Pat Saucier of Cottonport, daughter, Janet Gremillion of Baton Rouge, son, Byron Bobby Thevenot of Alexandria, daughter, Una Harrison of Alexandria sister, Annie Johnson of Cottonport, brother, Raymond Rachal of Boyce, brother, Richard Rachal of Baton Rouge. She left to mourn her twelve grandchildren sixteen great grandchildren and two greatgreatgrandchildren. Pallbearers will be Doug Saucier, Adam Saucier, D.J. Saucier, Russ Gremillion, Charles Thevenot and Ted Saucier.
She was 94 years of age and passed away at Valley View Nursing Facility on January 28, 2011.
