Funeral Mass Gilbert "T-Gil" Quebedeaux, Jr. originally from Arnaudville resident of Mansura will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 beginning at 11am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Mansura with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. Visitation will begin on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 4pm until 10pm at Escude Funeral Home in Mansura with Rosary prayer at 6pm. Visitation will resume Monday morning at 8am until 11am. Entombment will be in the St. Paul Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
T-Gil Quebedeaux, Jr., age 82, was born on October 20, 1935 in Arnaudville. He passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He and his family moved to Avoyelles Parish from St. Martin Parish in 1954 to farm and raise cattle. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Mansura serving as an usher and member of the Knights of Columbus. He served as a board member of the Avoyelles Parish Farm Bureau, Avoyelles Parish Sweet Potato Association and Avoyelles Parish Cattleman's Association. T-Gil enjoyed listening to Cajun music, attending Louisiana festivals and riding horse-back at trail rides.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Sylvia Reason Quebedeaux of Mansura; son, Michael (Amanda) Quebedeaux of Woodworth; daughter, Darlene (Jamie) Healy of Columbus, Ohio. He is also survived by one grandchild, Carson Quebedeaux of Woodworth and two step-grandchildren, Garrett and Brendan Healy of Bradenton Florida.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert, Sr. & Lucuille Quebedeaux; and brother, Harold Quebedeaux.
Lectors will be Amanda Quebedeaux and Carol Helminger. Gift bearers will be Lorraine Quebedeaux, Lauren Quebedeaux, Bailey Quebedeaux, Elise Quebedeaux, and Jaelan Quebedeaux. Camille Quebedeaux will be the Altar Server.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Ryan Quebedeaux, Chad Quebedeaux, Randy Quebedeaux, Jamie Healy, Wayne Michel, and Mike Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Jude Kidder and Roosevelt Sampson. Crossbearer will be Carson Quebedeaux.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Avoyelles Parish 4-H Club Foundation in T-Gil's honor.
