Glory Cannon

Funeral service for Glory Jean Cannon resident of Alexandria formerly of Hamburg will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014 beginning at 11am at Shiloh Baptist Church in Hamburg with Rev. Gayle Carter officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2014 beginning at 8am until 11am at Shiloh Baptist Church in Hamburg. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
Glory Jean Cannon Gloria Dean was born February 14, 1955 in Hamburg, La. to Lorena L. Cannon and the late Wilbert Cannon.
Gloria accepted Christ at an early age. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Gayle Carter. She attended Mary Betherne High School in Marksville. She finished her education at Moreauville High School in 1973 in Moreauville. She went to nursing school in Alexandria and became a LPN. She worked at Huey P. Long Hospital in Pineville until her retirement. She also worked at Valley View Nursing Home in Marksville. She was a sweet, loving, and caring person.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Cannon, three uncles, two aunts, and her grandparents.
The memories of Gloria will continue to live in the hearts of her mother, Lorena Cannon of Hamburg two sons, Craig April Cannon and Shannon Cannon both of Hamburg two brothers, Howard Thornton III of Moreauville and George Thornton of Pineville sister, Carla Thornton of Marksville nine grandchildren special friends, Lionel Murray of Alexandria. Her very close friends are Linda D., Linda J., Sandra Gayle, Terry, Debbie, Janell G. Ayanna Champman one great aunt Esther Ballard of Oakdale one uncle, Down Ladelle of Port Arthur, Tx two goddaughters, LaAsia Williams Shanicca Joshua godson, TyJuan Collins and a host of extended family and friends.
