Hillary Travasos

Funeral services for Hillary Travasos of Dupont will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 beginning at 1pm at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dupont with Fr. George Krosfield officiating. Military honors will be presented to Mr. Travasos following the service. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall beginning at 9am until 1pm. Burial will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
Hillary Travasos, age 73, passed away at his home in Dupont on Friday, April 29, 2016. Mr. Travasos was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. After returning home, he became an insurance salesman and sold for over 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Dupont and was a 3rd degree knight. In his spare time, he enjoyed writing poetry for his wife and daughters with a particular fondness for Valentine's Day. Hillary will be missed dearly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abner & Iris Travasos.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years, Karen Travasos of Dupont; daughters, Denise Murchie (husband Micah) of Gonzales and Charmaine Travasos of Prairieville; siblings: Deanna Mayeux of Metairie, Linda Plauche of Zachary, Steven Travasos of Slidell, & Dorothy Guillot of Covington; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
