Funeral services for Irene Smith of Simmesport will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 beginning at 11am at Escude Funeral Home in Simmesport, La. with Reverend Larry Thibodeaux officiating. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday beginning at 9am until time of service. Burial will commence at Grace Community Church Cemetery in Jacoby,La.
Irene Smith, age 87, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Estelle Parks; and her husband, Henry Smith; son, Robert Smith; brothers, Charlie Parks and John Parks and a sister Dora Parks Weber. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, John Smith of Hessmer, and Kenny Smith of Mansura; her daughters, Juanita Hawks of Batchelor, Josephine Bowman of Mansura, Evaline Jackson of Simmesport, Charlotte Vaccarro of Moreauville, and Gladys Smith of Simmesport; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
