Funeral services for Ivory Mingo of Marksville will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Congregational First Baptist Church of Marksville, beginning at 11:00am. Visitations will also be held at the church, prior to the funeral services, beginning at 8:00am. Burial will take place at the Cedar Grove Baptist Cemetery in Marksville. Ivory Mingo was born on March 3, 1944 to the late Clemous Mingo and Erin Jones Antoine. He departed this life on September 22, 2009 at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital at 7:30am. He was baptized at an early age and was a former member of St. John Community Baptist Church. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Audrey Martin, and to this union two children were born. Preceding him in death; one daughter, Brenda Mingo; step-father, Mr. Winston Antoine; five sisters; one brother. He leaves to cherish his loving memories; three sons, Kevin Thomas Lisa of Morgan City, John Martin PeeWee and Toby Jones of Beaumont, TX.; three daughters, Tracy Thomas of Morgan City, Cynthia Bellard and Joaquina Brooker of Beaumont, TX.; two godchildren Georgia Jones and Cheryl Johnson; three brothers, Lester Mingo of Morgan City, Louis Mingo Jean and Leroy Jones Marie of Franklin; four sisters, Lillie Mae Eldridge of Cottonport, Luo Bertha Rideaux Roy of Lake Charles, Margie McGlory Gordon and Geneva Mingo of Marksville; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He is also survived by two special friends; Estervan Brown Margie Gash. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
