Funeral Mass for James Leon Bowman, Sr. of Big Bend will take place at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Hessmer on Saturday, July 17th, 2021 beginning at 11:00am with Rev. Edwin Rodriguez-Hernandez officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.

James Bowman, Sr., age 72, passed away on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, James Bowman, Jr. (Becky), Marie Bowman Rachal, and Mitchell Bowman; grandchildren, Ashley, Nicole, Wesley, and Landon; and his 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Alberta Moreau, Geneva Laprairie, and Irma Wisenbaker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cynthia Bowman; parents, John and Lola Mae Bowman; brothers, Clyde Bowman, Anderson “Dakkie” Bowman, Newman Bowman, Huey Bowman, John Bowman, and Clint Bonnette.

Visitation will begin on Friday, July 16th, 2021 at the Escude Funeral Home of Simmesport from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and resume on Saturday morning at 8:00am.
