Funeral services for James Joseph Davis, Sr. of Cottonport will be held at the St. Marys Assumption Catholic Church of Cottonport on Friday, July 27, 2012, beginning at 1:00pm with Msgr. John Timmerman officiating. Visitations will take place at the Escud Funeral Home of Cottonport on Thursday, July 26, 2012, from 5:00pm to 10:00pm and will resume Friday morning at 8:00am. Burial services will commence at the St. Mary Cemetery 2.
James Davis, Sr., age 64, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Mr. Davis worked in law enforcement for 14 years. He was a member of the St. Bernard Police Dept. and earned the rank of Motorcycle Sergeant. He later went into business for himself and opened Lil Jimmys Wrecker Service, which he operated for 20 years. He was also a master mason and a member of the Theodore Roosevelt Lodge 415, F. A.M. in Jefferson, LA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Orange Adine Davis sisters, Georgia Buras, Rosemary Davis, Shirleen Hallgren, Linda Walters, Deborah Ticker brothers, Robert Davis, Samuel Davis, Richard Davis. He is survived by his wife, Debra Davis of Cottonport children, James Davis, Jr. wife, Patricia of New Orleans, Joshua Davis of Cottonport, Brad Davis wife, Megan of Hessmer, Jennifer Davis of Cottonport grandchildren, Jessica, Harley, Nicholas, Jordyn, Bronson, Mallorie, Jayce Davis sister, Helen Caye of Slidell brothers, Frank Davis of Greeneville, TN, Jack Davis of Lacombe.
