James Ducote

Funeral services for James Patrick Ducote of Cottonport will be held on Monday, December 7, 2015 beginning at 1pm at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church in Cottonport. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 beginning at 5pm until 10pm at Escude Funeral Home in Cottonport and will resume at Monday morning 10am at St. Mary's Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will be at the St. Mary's No. 2 Mausoleum in Cottonport.
James Patrick Ducote, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his home in Cottonport surrounded by his wife and children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Van & Narcille Rita Lacour Ducote.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 43 years, Darlene Ducote of Cottonport; sons: Shane Ducote of Cottonport, Chad (Trisha) Ducote of Scott, & Jay (Sarah) Ducote of Cottonport; daughter, Trista (Eric) Desoto of Cottonport; sisters, Bernice Dufour of Moreauville & Kathleen Singleton of Baton Rouge; brothers, Tony Ducote of Miami, FL & Neil Ducote of Mansura. He also leaves nine grandchildren: Mia Ducote, Greyson Ducote, Madison Ducote, Gideon Ducote, Rhianna Ducote, Aleya Armand, Shawn Dauzat, Jr., Amelia Desoto, & Harper Desoto.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers: Shane Ducote, Jay Ducote, Chad Ducote, Eric Desoto, Jacob Guillory, & Keith Dufour and crossbearer, Gideon Ducote.
Mr. James was a service technician with Goudeau, Inc. for 40 years. He was a faithful member of St. Mary's Assumption and a member of the Knights of Columbus, 1199 St Mary's Council in Cottonport.
