James St. Romain, age 94, of Plaucheville, loving husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather was called to his heavenly home on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents Clemile Lena Gauthier St. Romain, brother, Fred St. Romain, and sister, Verna St. Romain LaBorde. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Louise Ducote St. Romain and children, Linda Lachney Raymond of Plaucheville Kenneth St. Romain JoAnn of Rogers, AK Stephanie Haskell of Concord, CA and Annette Torres Jody of Destrehan. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 greatgrandchildren a brother Alden St. Romain of Hessmer and a sister Mary Bessie St. Romain Guillory of Evergreen.
James was a proud World War II USAF Veteran with the famous 6th Air Force based in the Dutch West Indies. Flying from there as a rear gunner in the B25 bomber, he completed the amazing number of 60 missions against the enemy for which he was awarded the Air Medal and a Battle Star.
Funeral services for James St. Romain will take place at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church of Plaucheville on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 beginning at 11am. Burial will take place at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Escud Funeral Home of Cottonport on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 beginning at 8am until time of services.
