Funeral services for James L. Smith of Simmesport will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013 beginning at 11am at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Simmesport. Interment will be held at the Christ the King Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on August 24, 2013 beginning at 9am until 11am at the Escud Funeral Home of Simmesport. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escud Funeral Home.
Mr. James L. Smith, age 69, passed away at the St. Landry Extended Care Hospital on Monday, August 19, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents Carlton Smith Vera Mae Porter. Those left to cherish his memory are his halfbrothers, Thomas Porter of Metairie, Arthur Porter of Metairie, and Daryl Porter of St. Rose his halfsisters Linda Landry and Sandra Porter both of Metairie and his special friend Carl Mose.
