Funeral services for Jason Ernest Ducote will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016, at Heart of Worship Church in Lettsworth, with Rev. Chad Bolfa officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m at Escude's Funeral Home in Simmesport; and again on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
Jason Ernest Ducote passed away at his residence on Thursday, January 28, 2016.
Jason was born September 10, 1965 to the late Leo Ducote, Sr. and the late Mandy Kimble of Simmesport, LA., both of whom precede him in death. Jason was also preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Ducote, and his niece, Geralyn (Sissy) Barr DeSoto.
Jason proudly served his country by joining the National Guard immediately following his graduation from Simmesport High School. He worked as a mud engineer in the oilfield, and took great pride in the industry. He was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all, spending time with his family. He loved his family more than he loved himself.
Those left to eternally cherish Jason's memory are his three children: Caina Green (Kyle, Jr.) of Marrero, Jeremy Ducote of Lafayette, and Tonya Fontenot (Chris) of Washington. Five grandchildren: Jacelyn & Madelyn Fontenot, Ian Meche, Kyle III & Averie Green; One brother: Leo, Jr. (Teeter) Ducote of Palmetto (Barbara); Six sisters: Beryl (Frank) Woodson of Kenner, and Jacquelyn (Curtis) Robert of Norco, Melanie (John) Barr, & Amy (Donnie, Jr.) Dibble of Hamburg, Belinda (Alan) Snyder & Ramona (Kurt) Rodriquez of Krotz Springs; his fiancée, Angie Burke of Echo and children: James & Christopher Fontenot, and Logan and Breanna Burke; 18 nieces & nephews; and his godchild, Nicholas Naquin.
Active pallbearers are Jeremy Ducote, Kyle Green, Jr., Chris Meche, Gerald Ducote, Brett Clark, and Bryan & Nicholas Naquin.
