Jimmie D. Normand, age 66, past away Wednesday February 23, 2011. Born in Hessmer, LA, Jimmie volunteered at 17 to serve as a Marine in the Vietnam War. He went on to serve with the Baton Rouge Police Department until retiring from there in 1996. His wife of 25 years, Theresa, preceded him in death. Jimmie and Theresa, also founded Klassic Kustom Jewelry in Baton Rouge which they operated for 14 years. Jimmie later married Marilyn Morel of Baton Rouge.
Jimmie was a very kind and giving person who was always stepping up to help another person or animal in need. His only child, Eric, describes him as truly the most loving and caring father in the world a great teacher of integrity, moral clarity, and discipline, yet closer than a best friend could ever be. Everyone should be so blessed to have a dad like mine.
Jimmie also leaves his mother Louise, brothers Mac and Ted, daughterinlaw Heather, and four grandchildren between the ages of 6 and 11.
A celebration of Jims life will be held Sunday, Feb 27th, at 2:30pm at the Hessmer Baptist Church. 2927 Main St Hwy 115 Hessmer, LA 71341
