Joanie Kay Couvillion

Funeral Mass for Joanie Couvillion of Cottonport will take place at the St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church of Cottonport on Monday, July 29th, 2024 beginning at 11:00am with Rev. Charlie Ray officiating. Visitation will begin on Sunday, July 28th, 2024 from 5:00pm to 10:00pm at the Escude Funeral Home of Cottonport. Visitation will resume Monday morning at 8:00am. The Holy Rosary will be recited before the funeral mass at St. Mary Assumption Catholic Church at 10:40am. Burial will take place at the St. Ann Catholic Mausoleum of Morganza.

Joanie Couvillion, age 66, passed away at her home in Cottonport on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024. As the eldest among her siblings, Joanie's nurturing spirit shone brightest when caring for her loved ones, especially her devoted husband Lee Couvillion. Her retirement from nursing did not mark the end of her compassionate nature, as she continued to prioritize the well-being of those around her. Her warm smile and gentle touch touched the lives of countless patients and her own cherished family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lee Couvillion; mother, Lucy Dauzart; siblings, James Dauzart, Jr. (Tracy Pellering), Donna Arnouville (Kenneth), and Kim Rabalais. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Beau Couvillion & Naomi Dossett; her step-grandchildren, Razoria Dossette, Carter Laborde, and Anna Couvillion; her step-great-grandchild, Ranazmay Mayeaux; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her son, John Michael Jarreau; and her father, James Dauzart, Sr.
