Memorial services for John Ducote of Mansura will take place at the St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church of Mansura on Friday, April 20th, 2018 beginning at 10:00am with Fr. Irion St. Romain officiating. A rosary will be recited before the memorial service beginning at 9:30am. Burial will commence at the St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
John, age 63, passed away at his home in Mansura on Wednesday, April 18th, 2018. John had an extensive career in the aviation industry. He was lead mechanic at many different companies like: H & L Air, Nascar in Daytona Beach, FL, he later formed his own company, Crescent City Aviation at the Lakefront Airport. He later worked at Grey Insurance Corp. He was a corporate jet mechanic and in 2005 he was released of his duties due to the onset of Parkinson's Disease. In 2005, he moved from Slidell to Mansura. His main hobby from then on was to keep his and the surrounding properties and his community clean and free of litter. He was not alone in this chore, he would be accompanied by his dog, Buddy. His illness progressed, despite many treatments at the Neurological Medical Center Clinic in Baton Rouge.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Erline Marie Ducote; grandparents, Alma & George Ducote, and Clarise & Hector Claudel. He is survived by his father, Harris Ducote and his special friend Diane Turner; sister, Patrice Robinson (Thomas) and their children, Thomas Robinson, Jr. (Adair), Lt. Col Timothy Robinson (Wendy), Dr. Aimee Watts (Chris); brothers, Steve Ducote (Monice), Jeffrey H. Ducote, Gregory Ducote and his children, Aaron Ducote, Derek Ducote, & Angela Ducote. He is also survived by his friend, Sissy, and many close family and friends who loved and admired him.
