John Guillory

Funeral services for John Jean Guillory of Plaucheville will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 beginning at 11:30am at the Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Plaucheville with Fr. Keith Ishmael officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 beginning at 5pm until 10pm and will resume Thursday morning at 8am at the Escude Funeral Home in Cottonport. Interment will be held in the Mater Dolorosa Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Escude Funeral Home.
John Jean Guillory, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the Avoyelles Manor Nursing Home in Dupont. He was preceded in death by his parents, Forest & Adeline Guillory.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 59 years, Marietta Guillory of Plaucheville; children: Steve (Linda) Guillory of Marksville, Renee (Kenneth) Lemoine of Plaucheville, Tim (Mary) Guillory of Plaucheville; ten grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
John was one of the first to graduate from the 12th grade (when it was once the 11th) at Plaucheville High School. John served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War being stationed in France. He was a farmer for most of his life; once retiring, he worked for the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Department and ran road crew. John loved fishing in his free time and loved big family get-togethers. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, & great-grandfather and will be missed dearly.
